Welcome to the CPA/Law Society! We are a group of professionals, comprised primarily of CPAs and attorneys, who meet regularly to hear speakers on various topics of interest and/or importance to their professions and personal lives. The presentations are not only informative but typically entertaining as well.

The meetings provide an opportunity for professionals from two closely linked professions to get together on a regular basis in a relaxed, yet professional, atmosphere. The CPA/Law Society has chapters in Camarillo, Westlake Village and Santa Barbara. In 2024, we moved our Ventura meetings from The Pierpont Inn to Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo, and are extremely pleased with the move.

We continued to have many excellent speakers and presentations in 2024, including the California State Controller, John Chiang. We covered many unique topics in the 16 meetings held during the year, which included over 1,500 attendees. As many of you know, we also started a student membership in 2024, and have had many UCSB accounting students attend the meetings. We believe the interaction with professionals is a nice addition to their educational experience, and provides additional diversity to the group. We also introduced the use on Constant Contact, an online registration system. We hope to allow for credit card registration in 2024.

We expect great things again this year for the group. We are planning another terrific scholarship awards function in the spring, as well as many unique and excellent programs over the next year. Thanks to broadening local support, our membership list continues to grow, and includes most of the large and well-known CPA firms, law firms, and banks in the area, as well as a great group of individual CPAs, attorneys, and related professionals.
